Ferdinand Arthur Rogers was born in Virginia. Before the Civil War he and his
family moved to Boonville. He wrote these letters to his sister in Rocheport. Her
name was Ann Elizabeth Lientz. He traveled down the Ohio and Missouri Rivers on
steamboats to get to Missouri. He was an enlisted man all during the war.
