Jan. 20th 1863 Right [Wright] Co Mo viz Daniel Fowler Dear Sir it affords me some plasure to write you these lines for the accomidation of C.C. RainWaters [Charles C. Rainwater] acting Comisary of Gen. [John S.] Marmaduke Command. I left CC RainWaters on the Evening of the 11th of Jan. 1863. he was then in good helth and fine spirits the Battle of Hartsville [Battle of Hartville]. of about 4 hours had just Closed, and I being left by detail in Charge of the Wounded, and promised to write you for him he will be at home just as soon as times changes he will Continue in the service in the Discharge of his official Duty, until he can come home in honor: you may Rest contented that all is wright with him he has one of the Best positions in the C.S.A. Army. you say to the wife of Mr RainWaters not to be troubled about him. Just keep yourself as one of your sex should. trust in the Lord and do good and he shall bring it to pass, for the Righteous shall have the desire of there harts.
