The Sentinel was published form 1868-1880 when it changed titles to the Edina Sentinel and continued publishing until 1939. Early editorial attitudes displayed a lack of confidence in government. Reporting in 1875, “This week the State Legislature will meet. Its session out to be uneventful and unimportant.” Generally, the Sentinel reported favorably on local events and interests.
