Gasconade County Republican maskhead

 

The Gasconade County Republican printed its first issue on 1905 in Owensville, Mo.  The Republican is the succeeding newspapers to both the Owensville Argus, 1903-1905 and the Republican Banner, 1897-1905.  In the first issue published on November 19, 1905 the editor described this newspaper as “Republican in politics” and work toward promoting “Owensville, its community, and Gasconade County.”  By 1922 the newspaper grew from a four page publication to eight page newspaper.
