“Devoted to Literature, Science and Politics” was proudly printed in on the banner of the Platte County Reveille. Keeping true to this moto the Reveille printed an eclectic mixture of poetry and news articles from Missouri and around the world. Politically, the Reveille professes a “staunch independence in its political views” as long as those views are “reared in the Conservative school of politics.” The Reveille published from July 6, 1866 to June 2, 1871 when it merged with The Landmark in order to consolidate publications.
