Thomas D. Graham was born on October 14, 1922. He served as a Democrat in the Missouri House of Representatives for eleven terms (twenty-two years), beginning with his 1950 election. During the 71st-73rd General Assembly sessions, he served for three terms as House Speaker. For his most recent biographic entry, see the Official Manual of the State of Missouri, 1971-1972. I met Mr. Graham at his Jefferson City law office one late August morning. Shortly after we began the session, his son -- Christopher Graham, a lawyer and a former Missouri State Representative himself -- joined us and sat in for the first half (or so) of the total interview. Mr. Thomas Graham also had a stack of notes before him to which he referred from time to time during the session.
